Apex City of Bath Hotel, with the largest conference center in the city hosted the awards in September 2017.  Special guests Angela Hartnett and Nathan Outlaw were on hand to present Awards.

21D Long Street is a fruit and veg shop opened at the beginning of April 2018.

Lovely Theresa runs the shop, Chris and Alicia go to Bristol market 6 days a week.  The shop is open 6 days from 7am to 6pm and 10-2pm on Sundays.  Jasmine works part time and oversees the other part time staff and she also manages the money.

Wotton under edge evening with Oscar Davis

Like many of the best chefs, Oscar Davis didn’t have formal training, but learned his trade on the job. Inspired by his father, who had a great love of food, Oscar started in the industry at just 15. As head chef at Yurt Lush, a restaurant renowned for championing sustainability, Oscar uses local ingredients and turns them into something truly special. 

Salad leaves come from the Severn Project just around the corner, and organic meat is sourced from Story Organic in Chew Magna, a fantastic local butcher. Oscar’s colourful, contemporary take on British cooking draws inspiration from the many chefs he has worked with throughout his career.

The Bristol Good Food Awards Judge will cook outside over charcoal. Michel Roux Jr was “blown away by former MasterChef contestant Kathryn Minchew” when he ate a Fire Cooked Meal at  her Gloucester Studio.


Thursday 6th December, Good Food on The Edge ran its first event, a gin night: Hosted by the trio of Emma, Bev and Hannah

Saturday 15th December, Bourbon Night - Rob Rigby talked about his big 5: Four Roses - Yellow Label, Basil Hayden, XR Wild Turkey Rye, Rittenhouse 100% Rye and Evan Williams Extra Aged.  Simon Lloyd and John Barnes served bourbon and cocktails.


Friday 15th February, Italian Night - Plenty of tasting courses that explore the food and drink culture of Italy.

Arrive 7:30pm and seated at 3 high tables and window bar.  Selection of crackers and bread sticks,

Menu TRIS of olives, potato with pesto mayonnaise salad and radicchio, mixed grilled vegetables frittata, basil and onions, grilled artichokes and prawn salad.

•Chris will introduce Bruno Morelli, our chef for the night and Tony Holdswoth , Owner of Silver Fox Gin in Luckington

•Tony  will introduce Silver Fox Gin to enjoy with the snacks already laid out.

Saturday  8th June 4pm ,  Foraging walk and food with Jos Fletcher      Yes  that's right, a walk!  Two hours starting from and returning to the shop. Jos is  already infusing gin with locally foraged ingredients.  From 6pm  to 8pm  these  wild infused gins and forest cocktails will be accompanied by Jos's  food  platters, sourced from our local woods and supplemented a little by what's  available from the shop.

Saturday  6th July from 7:30,   Cheese & chutney tasting with  local beers and wine.    Gingerbeard's  Harry Calvert will be pairing a diverse range of the company's preserves with  local cheeses, beers and wines. Expect pairings from the more traditional to  some slightly wacky combinations that will get your  imagination going!  You  will also have the chance to sample a great  selection of  preserves and sauces   made by Gingerbeard's of Bristol(Good Food Awards Winner).

I have just noticed that you have the guy from Gingerbeard's at your shop  on 6th July.  Unfortunately I am away but would really like some of his mango  chutney, it is without doubt the best I have ever had!  Am I able to place an  order through you?  If so I would like 3 jars please.

Returning  chef, Jack will again be cooking outside on the pavement and serving indoors or  out, if preferred.  

Four courses for a summer evening.......colourful, vibrant,  zesty flavours!   Course  1 Picadillo  stuffed Pepper with  Peruvian  Chilli & Red Pepper Sauce Course  2  Pan  Seared Sea Bream with Butternut Squash Puree  &  Red Onion Pickle Course  3 Lime  Marinated fillet of Pork with Mango Salsa &  Lemon  & Cilantro Potatoes Course  4 Lime  & Mint Cachaça Granite    Complimentary  Caipirinha. Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça, sugar, and lime.  Cachaça, also known as caninha, or any one of a multitude of traditional names,  is Brazil's most common distilled alcoholic beverage
